Lauren Leader, a widely-respected thought leader on diversity and women’s issues and the co-founder and CEO of All In Together, will be featured as the keynote speaker at the YWCA 2019 Women of Distinction awards dinner on May 9th at Woodway Country Club. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the award which is bestowed in recognition of the outstanding achievements of women whose significant and unique contributions have made a difference in our community. This dinner will take place on May 9th at Woodway Country Club.
Ms. Leader has dedicated her life and career to advancing diversity and inclusion in business and politics. Founded in 2014, All In Together is one of the only non-partisan organizations training a generation of American women across the economic and political divide, on civics and civic leadership. AIT has trained nearly 10,000 women and reached millions.
She is also an accomplished writer. Her first book, Crossing the Thinnest Line (Hachette Center Street, September 2016) debuted in the top 50 on Amazon in several categories and sparked an important conversation across the country in living rooms and board rooms about the importance of diversity to the future of America. Her research and writing on a wide array of talent, diversity and business issues has helped shape people strategy and the public discourse for the last decade.
Her writing and thought leadership has appeared in a wide range of publications including Forbes, Harvard Business Review, New York Times, Inc., Fatherly, Refinery29 and Bustle. In 2015 Lauren was listed as one of Fortune’s 50 Most Influential Women on Twitter and is a 2018 Presidential Leadership Scholar. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a graduate of Barnard College.
The emcee of the event is Erica Zaky Bryniczka, freelance reporter and former News Channel 12 Anchor. This year’s honorees are: Tracy Fox, Debra Hertz, Katherine Price, Heather Raker, Shiva Sarram and Snedaker, while Morgan Riley will be honored as our Young Woman of Distinction, recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of a woman fewer than 21 years of age.
