YWCA Darien/Norwalk Appoints New Board Chair, Welcomes New Board Members

The leadership changes come as the nonprofit approaches nearly 50 years of service in Fairfield County.

DARIEN, CT — YWCA Darien/Norwalk has appointed Carolina McGoey as chair of its board of directors and added Sharon Baanante and Elizabeth Besen as new board members, the organization recently announced.

The leadership changes come as the nonprofit approaches nearly 50 years of service in Fairfield County and continues to expand partnerships and programs for women and families in Darien and Norwalk.

"Carolina is a deeply respected leader and a tireless advocate for organizations that strengthen and support our town," said YWCA Darien/Norwalk CEO Jennifer Buchholz, who also served as board chair for two and a half years. "Her ability to bring people together around shared purpose, along with her thoughtful, values-driven leadership, makes her an exceptional choice to serve as Board Chair. Carolina’s leadership will be instrumental in guiding the organization forward."
