YWCA Darien/Norwalk Launches Search For Next CEO
The leadership transition comes during a period of organizational growth and expanded community impact, according to YWCA Darien/Norwalk.
DARIEN, CT — YWCA Darien/Norwalk has launched a search for its next chief executive officer as current CEO Jennifer Buchholz prepares to step down after eight years with the organization.
Buchholz first served on the Board of Directors before becoming chief executive officer in 2024.
The leadership transition comes during a period of organizational growth and expanded community impact, according to YWCA Darien/Norwalk.

During her tenure, Buchholz strengthened the organization's infrastructure, expanded community partnerships, enhanced mission-driven programming, and increased the organization's visibility throughout the region. The organization said her leadership helped create the stability and momentum to support its continued growth and future success.
"Jennifer’s leadership has helped strengthen YWCA Darien/Norwalk, expand our reach in the community, and position the organization for its next chapter. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and the lasting impact she has made," said Board of Directors Chair Carolina McGoey in a news release. "As we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary next year, we are excited to welcome a leader who shares our commitment to service, inclusion, and community impact and who will help guide the organization into its next era."

"Serving YWCA Darien/Norwalk has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional and personal life,” noted Buchholz. "I am proud of what we have accomplished together and confident that the organization is well-positioned for continued success in the years ahead. While I am transitioning away from this role, YWCA will always hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to remaining part of the community and supporting its mission in the years to come."
The Board of Directors is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven leader to serve as the organization's next chief executive officer.
According to the organization, the ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement, partnership development, fundraising and mission-driven leadership. The successful candidate will build on YWCA Darien/Norwalk's foundation as the organization approaches its 50th anniversary.
