YWCA Darien/Norwalk Accepting Nominations for 2015 Women of Distinction Awards

UPDATE: Nominations must be submitted by Monday, March 23 (the deadline has been extended from March 16).

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is currently accepting nominations for the 2015 Women of Distinction awards, bestowed in recognition of the outstanding achievements of a select group of women.

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk’s mission is to give women the support and tools they need to transform their lives, be confident in their choices and raise healthy families. Each year at the Women of Distinction luncheon, the YW honors these women in the Darien/Norwalk community who epitomize community leadership and contribution.

Local residents and business owners nominate women whose significant and unique contributions have made a difference in the Darien and Norwalk communities by showing vision, creativity, determination and initiative. This year’s nominees will be based on a new set of criteria that includes four practice areas best describing the nominee’s accomplishments and contributions. The practice areas are career development; family; health and wellness; and personal finance. Details about each practice area can be found at www.ywcadariennorwalk.org.

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk Women of Distinction Nominations Committee reviews the nominations and selects the honorees. The honorees will include a Young Woman of Distinction, recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of a woman under 21 years of age. The women chosen to receive the Women of Distinction awards will be honored at the YW’s Annual Women of Distinction Awards and Luncheon on May 7 at the Woodway Country Club in Darien.

The YW encourages all to nominate women who are leaders, role models, agents for change, mentors and/or an inspiration to others. Nomination forms are online at www.ywcadariennorwalk.org and must be submitted by Monday, March 23.
