YWCA Darien/Norwalk to Hold Summer Vacation Art Workshop Classes for Children

Summer vacation arts and crafts workshop classes for children, ages 5 through 10 at the YW.

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is holding summer vacation arts and crafts workshop classes for children, ages 5 through 10 on Mondays through Thursdays from June 22 through June 25, June 29 through July 2, and from August 3 through August 6.

Classes will run from 9:30 to noon and children can be registered for any number of days each week. These ‘Use, Reuse, Recycle’ workshop classes will feature a project made with recycled materials each day, and will additionally allow for free-style painting time.

Rowana Shepard, who has a Dutch College Degree in Art and has been teaching art for more than fifteen years, will run the classes.

Her experience includes teaching ceramics, sculpting, painting and recycled art at an after school program in New York City, culminating annually in the NYCHA Residents art show, for which work of many of her students was chosen. Fee per class is $50 for YW members, $55 for non-members.

Children should bring their own nut-free snacks. Spaces are limited; registration is online at ywcadariennorwalk.org. For more information, please call (203) 655-2535.
