DURHAM, CT — Durham voters will decide whether to transfer up to $12,720 for new fire hose and elect members to several town boards and committees during the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, Oct. 5.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Durham Community Center, 144 Pickett Lane. Eligible Durham voters may participate in the meeting.
Voters will consider transferring no more than $12,720 from the Fire Department Equipment Reserve to the Fire Department Equipment capital improvement account for the purchase of fire hose, provided procurement requirements are met. The Board of Finance recommended the transfer at its Sept. 8 meeting, according to the town meeting call.
The meeting will also determine the date of Durham's Annual Budget Meeting.
Several municipal and community board positions will be filled. Voters are scheduled to fill one vacancy on the Compensation Review/Personnel Policy Board for a term expiring in 2028 and elect members to five-year terms on that board expiring in 2029 and 2031.
Three members will be elected to the Board of Library Directors for terms expiring in 2029. Voters will also elect two town representatives to the Board of Trustees of the Durham Volunteer Fire Company Inc., with terms expiring in 2028 and 2029, and two members to the Regional School District 13 Finance Committee for terms expiring in 2028.
