10th Annual Gelding Clinic

Sponsored by the CT Draft Horse Rescue

The CT Draft Horse Rescue is sponsoring their 10th Annual Gelding Clinic (low-cost equine castration clinic) on Saturday, May 7th (rain date, Sunday, May 8th) at their farm located at 113 Chestnut Hill Rd, East Hampton, CT 06424. Since the start of this vital program, the CDHR has helped over 100 equines and horse owners in need with the issue of unwanted horses. Veterinary students from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, under the direct supervision of both Tufts and local veterinarians, have all graciously volunteered their time and expertise to perform the gelding. The program was developed based on a philosophy that the castration of a stallion will help prevent accidental, backyard, or overbreeding, thereby reducing the number of unwanted horses being born. Open to horses, donkeys, and mules. Pre-registration is required, and we will be closed to the public on this day. To participate, you must fill out the application on their website, and they will contact you with an appointment time.
