EAST HAMPTON, CT — One person was killed, and another was seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a dump truck, according to police.
Police said members of the East Hampton Police Department, East Hampton Fire Department, East Hampton Ambulance and the Colchester Fire Department responded around 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 27 to a crash involving a dump truck and a motorcycle near the intersection of Gulf Road and Colchester Avenue.
Two people on the motorcycle were seriously injured in the crash, according to police.
Police said two Life Star crews responded to the scene due to their injuries.
Jaime Brouwer, 49, of the Jewett City section of Griswold, died at the scene, according to police.
Police said the other person was taken by Life Star to Hartford Hospital. The extent of his injuries wasn't immediately known, according to police.
