• Cause of death for Vernon resident at Cape Cod pond pending, officials say (nhregister.com) — An East Hampton teenager, 15-year-old Cassandra Munson, died in July after suffering a medical emergency and falling from her paddleboard into Crystal Pond in Eastford, and officials still have not determined her cause of death. Her case is mentioned alongside a similar recent paddleboarding death of a Vernon resident in Massachusetts, as authorities in both states continue their investigations.
