Some residents are being told to shelter in place after a fire broke out at Bill's Auto Repair & Tire.
PORTLAND, CT — Some Portland residents are being told to shelter in place Saturday after a three-alarm fire caused a partial building collapse at a Portland business, NBC Connecticut reported.
The fire broke out at Bill's Auto Repair & Tire on Saturday afternoon, according to NBC. More than 80 firefighters battled the blaze.
The shelter-in-place order was issued after flames threatened chemicals stored inside the building. It remains in place as crews work to contain the fire, NBC reported.
