
Coginchaug (17-3) has earned the No. 6 seed in the Class S boys' basketball tournament pairings announced Wednesday by the CIAC and could face No. 11 Haddam-Killingworth (15-5) in the second round if both advance.
In Class M, Cromwell (17-3) was No. 5 and Valley Regional (16-4) No. 7. Those two schools will meet for the Shoreline Conference tournament championship on Friday.

First-round games in Class S will start Monday and in Class M on Tuesday.
Valley Regional was in Class S last season but got bumped up for this season based on student enrollment. The Warriors were Class S champions in 2011.

Class LL has three schools that finished 20-0, St. Joseph, Hillhouse and Hartford Public. St. Joseph got the No. 1 ranking. In Class L, Northwest Catholic (18-2) is the No. 1 seed. Enfield (20-0) earned the No. 1 spot in Class M and Immaculate (19-1) is No. 1 in Class S.
Other Shoreline schools making the tournament in Class S are No. 17 Old Saybrook (12-8) and No. 20 Old Lyme (11-9). In Class M, Hyde Leadership (11-9) is ranked No. 17.
