Complaint Against Portland Economic Development Commission Chairman Dismissed

The complaint was dismissed by The Ethics Committee during a recent meeting.

PORTLAND, CT - A complaint against the chairman of the Portland Economic Development Commission has been dismissed, the Middletown Press reported.

The complaint, brought against EDC Chairman Elwin Guild, was dismissed by The Ethics Commission at a meeting last week, according to the Middletown Press. The complaint was one of five brought by an alternate on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Guild was accused of failing to disclose his prior membership on the Elmcrest Campus Advisory Committee, the Middletown Press reported. He had also been accused of not disclosing receiving a $5,000 from the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation to repair a historic barn.
