Could Portland Become Home to a Medical Marijuana Dispensary?

Currently there are six medical marijuana dispensaries in Connecticut and there is a proposal to increase that number to nine, the Hartford Courant reports.

The emphasis is on adding locations in both Fairfield and New Haven counties, and 16 applications have been received, including one from Portland.

Connecticut Pharmaceutical Research Center LLC is located at 47 Main St. in Portland. That address also belongs to Connecticut Pharmaceutical Solutions, a medical marijuana production company.

The center is reportedly proposing two medical marijuana dispensing locations, the Hartford Courant reported. The locations have not been disclosed.

There are 5,337 registered patients and the state will make a decision early next year on where to add the new dispensaries.
