CUT IT TO BUILD IT

CUT
IT TO BUILD IT

The Ladies Auxiliary to Fowler-Dix-Park VFW Post 5095 is hosting a “Cut It To Build

It” Fundraising Event on Saturday, April 5th starting at 2pm at the

Post Home located at 20 North Maple Street in East Hampton.  Stylists from The Hair Corner of East Hampton,

Scissor Happy of Portland and Denise and Kaytee Hull have graciously agreed to

volunteer their time with 100% of all donations going to The Fisher House.  The Fisher House is best known for a network

of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost

while a loved one is receiving treatment.

With an initiative underway to build a Fisher House on the grounds of

the West Haven Veterans Hospital, coupled with their heroic action of stepping up to

provide $25,000 gifts to 29 families of service members killed in service to

our nation during the partial government shutdown last fall, the Ladies Auxiliary felt this was a very worthy

organization to support.

Leading the initiative, several Auxiliary members, have been patiently growing their

hair for many months, and will have at least 8 inches of their locks cut off

and donated for cancer wigs.  In

addition, long term supporter Joe Barber, along with several friends of the

Post, will have their beards and/or heads shaved in support of this

fundraiser.  This is the fifth event of

its kind for the Ladies Auxiliary.

Previous events have raised over $4,000 in total for Veteran related

causes.
