'Difficult Decision': Unique Shop, Venue To Close In East Hampton
The owner said the spot is "more than a business; it's been a gathering place, a safe haven, a home for creativity, and a labor of love."
EAST HAMPTON, CT — Dexter's Tunes & Ales, a record store and bookshop that hosts live music events, will close at the end of March in what the owner called a "difficult decision."
"When I opened in 2021, I promised myself I would give this place five years — and here we are," the owner posted on Facebook. " This community, this room, and all of you have meant more to me than I can ever put into words. Dexter's has been more than a business; it's been a gathering place, a safe haven, a home for creativity, and a labor of love."
The owner goes on to write that she hopes "this isn't the end of Dexter's" and that she would "love to see someone pick up the torch and carry Dexter's forward in their own way."
