Dog Killed In Portland Dog Attack

A Yorkshire Terrier named Lizzie was killed after being bitten by a much larger dog, according to police.

PORTLAND, CT — A Yorkshire Terrier was killed after an attack by another dog during a walk, according to police. Lola and Lizzie were walking down Main Street with owner William Barrows when a large black dog grabbed Lizzie by the neck and killed her in mid-November.

Dog owner Ronald Wilcox had Jake, a Rottweiler/Lab on a leash that was under his foot, according to the Middletown Press. He hit Jake several times in the head until he let go.

Wilcox was issued a ticket for first-degree nuisance, having an unlicensed dog and failure to keep up to date on rabies shots.
