East Hampton and Portland Residents: Would You Support Tolls to Pay for an Improved Transportation System?
Tolls were abolished in 1985 in Connecticut.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is considering reinstating tolls on Connecticut highways as a way to pay for a transportation system that would be comparable to the rest of the country.
Malloy intends on leading a discussion with the General Assembly and the public next year about transportation, the Hartford Courant reports. Malloy said Monday night that his office would have detailed transportation-improvement plans that he would present to the legislature in February along with his budget proposals.
According to the Courant, Malloy said the residents of Connecticut need to prepared to have a blunt talk about the neglect of transportation and decide whether they want a competitive transportation system.
