East Hampton Boy Granted Basement Makeover Wish
A local boy who suffers from leukemia was recently granted his wish.

Information via Make-A-Wish Foundation
EAST HAMPTON – Ten-year old Danny is a big movie fanatic and wished for a basement makeover in his new home that would transform the home’s basement into the boy cave of his dreams. His wish list included a movie theater, snack bar, games, lots of movie posters, toy storage and a crafts room. Danny wants nothing more than to have a special space where he can escape from all the hospital visits and treatments related to his leukemia and just be a kid. He is so excited to invite friends over to play and hang out with them and his family to watch movies in the theater room.
On Thursday, July 25th at 5:30 p.m. the basement, which up until then will be hidden from Danny’s view, will be revealed to him for the first time. Family, friends and the East Hampton community will celebrate the completion of Danny’s boy cave at 44 Highland Terrace in East Hampton.

We invite the media to capture the euphoric surprise on Danny’s face as his boy cave is revealed and celebrate the completion of this brave boy’s wish.
Without the generous help of Ron Drisdelle of Drisdelle Homes LLC, who donated his time and materials, along with furniture donations from Bob’s Discount Furniture and the financial contribution of the Bershaw family, the design and construction of Danny’s basement boy cave would not have been possible. Financial and in-kind donations are what allow us to grant the wishes of every eligible child in the state.
