East Hampton Girl Wins CT Kid Governor On LGBTQ Platform
A local girl will be the state's next Kid Governor, beating out fifth graders from around the state and highlighting LGBTQ youth safety.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - Ella Briggs, an East Hampton resident and student at CREC Ana Grace Academy of the Arts Elementary Magnet School in Avon, has won the Connecticut Kid Governor position, beating out other fifth graders from around the state. Ella won on a platform of promoting LGBTQ Youth Safety.

According to a statement from the Connecticut Democracy Center, a nonprofit which promotes the position, "her platform focuses on three platform points to advocate for youth in the LGBTQ community:
