East Hampton High School Hires New Principal

The district announced that effective Dec. 11, Frank Rizzuto will take over principal duties.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - The district has announced that the high school will have a new principal, Frank Rizzuto. According to a release from the district:

"The East Hampton Board of Education and East Hampton High School have announced Mr. Frank Rizzuto, currently an Associate Principal at South Windsor High School as Principal of East Hampton High School effective December 11, 2017 replacing Mrs. Nancy Briere, who is currently serving as Interim Principal.

"Mr. Rizzuto has served as Associate Principal at South Windsor High School since 2012. Prior to that he was a Social Studies Teacher for 12 years in South Windsor. While a teacher, he was a Learning Community Leader for the South Windsor High School Freshman Academy and Chair of the Ninth Grade Restructuring Initiative. Mr. Rizzuto has extensive experience with the New England Association of Schools (NEASC) including committee chair, member of a visiting committee, and facilitator of the high school’s 2-year report, preparing him for East Hampton High School’s decennial accreditation visit in March of 2018.

"Mr. Rizzuto was also Girls’ Varsity Tennis coach at South Windsor High School for 12 years, sharing his passion for good sportsmanship and fitness, while qualifying for the state tournament 10 out of 12 seasons.

"After four rounds of interviews, Mr. Rizzuto was selected with a great deal of enthusiasm after impressing panels that consisted of students, teachers, parents, administrators, and the East Hampton Board of Education."
