East Hampton High School Presents "Grease!"

The East Hampton High School Drama Club will present the musical
theater classic Grease April 4 – 6th at East
Hampton High School.  With classic songs including “Summer Nights,”
“Greased Lightning,” and “We Go Together,” Grease
has something for everyone!

Here is Rydell High's senior class of
1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their
gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal
pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical.
Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to
relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the
gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased
Lightnin'", "It's Raining on Prom Night", "Alone at the
Drive-In Movie" recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and
Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An 8-year run on
Broadway and two subsequent revivals place Grease among the world's most
popular musicals!

The cast has been hard at work for the past three months rehearsing
the dance routines and vocal harmonies that make this musical shine.   There are over forty-five students involved
in the production as both cast and crew members. Senior Shayla Belanger takes
on the role of Sandy Dumbrowski after having previously played such roles as
Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and
Rapunzel in Into the Woods. Sophomore
Lucas Gerolami plays Danny Zuko after having played the role of Jacob Marley in
the drama club’s production of A
Christmas Carol
last year.  Other
cast members include Hunter Brazal, Carli Villa, Jenna Cordeiro, Sam Laraia,
and Emily Flynn.
