East Hampton High School Senior Visits Eversource Facility
A high school student who has dreamt of becoming a line worker since he was 10 recently got the chance of a lifetime.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - With dreams of becoming a lineworker for Eversource since he was just 10-years-old, Ryan Kreder has been working closely with Eversource over the past few months to gain knowledge of the field.
The East Hampton High School senior met two lineworkers in October who let him watch as they restored power to his house, according to a release. Most recently, Kreder spent the day at an Eversource facility to get a real taste of the job.
At the East Hampton work center, the 18-year-old got to talk with chief line mechanic Scott Straynorn and check out a lot of electrical equipment up close. He was able to try on the safety gear lineworkers wear on the job and even got to hop in an Eversource bucket truck.

"When I graduate high school, Kreder said in a release, "I plan to go to technical school and then lineman school to train for my future job working with Eversource.”
As part of his senior project on electricity, Kreder is building a miniature model of a transmission and distribution system to present to his class. For the past month, he has been working closely with Patricia Bandzes with the company’s community relations department who helped to answer any questions Kreder has about the industry.
