East Hampton Man Clocked At 105 MPH Attempts To Elude Trooper: Police
A man is facing charges that he sped away from a trooper last week, according to state police.
EAST HAMPTON, CT — An East Hampton man was arrested after police say he was caught going 105 mph, then attempted to elude state troopers.
A trooper was monitoring a section of Route 66 in Marlborough at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday and spotted a speeding GMC K2500 pickup truck.
The truck was changing in the opposite lane to pass and was clocked at 105 mph, according to police.

The trooper pursued the pickup truck, which reached speeds of more than 115 mph.
The pickup truck went into the opposite lane to pass another vehicle at the crest of the hill, "creating a risk of serious physical injury to themself and others," according to police.

When the trooper caught up to the truck, it abruptly turned into a home's driveway. The driver exited the truck after the trooper told him to remain inside.
The driver was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. He was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled for arraignment at Manchester Superior Court on April 12.
