East Hampton Middle School Math Teacher Wins Teacher of the Year
Her five years at the school has endeared her to students, as well as colleagues and parents.
East Hampton Middle School math teacher Christina Amaral has been selected as East Hampton's Teacher of the Year, the Middletown Press reported.
A number of factors have contributed to Amaral’s award, including innovative techniques in her classroom, according to the Middletown Press. This includes using Google Classroom and developing a flipped classroom model among other things.
A flipped model involves students viewing short video lectures on a subject before class sessions, according to Educase. Amaral will be recognized for this and much more during a public school convocation on Aug. 31, as well as the State Teacher of the Year ceremony on Nov. 10., the Middletown Press reported.
