EAST HAMPTON, CT – The Board of Finance is considering defunding a police program dealing with training canines, the Middletown Press reported.
Members of the board this week questioned the need for the police canine program, according to the Middletown Press. Members also called into question the establishment of the program on a whole.
The discussion was prompted by the addition of a new dog being added to the force and beginning training, the Middletown Press reported. Members were concerned there was no Board of Finance vote on establishing the program or request for information from the board.
