EAST HAMPTON, CT — The town is spraying for mosquitoes in an effort to curb any cases of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), NBC CT reported. The virus is potentially deadly in humans.
The school district has informed parents that all outdoor afterschool activities—including practices and games—will end before dusk. Mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk.
Mosquitoes carrying the EEE virus have been found in several towns in Connecticut, including nearby Haddam. The tree lines near fields are being sprayed for mosquitoes, according to NBC.
