The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds

The East Hampton High School Drama Club will present Paul Zindel’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds. “The old, converted vegetable shop where Tillie lives is more like a madhouse than a home. Tillie's mother, Beatrice, is bitter and cruel, yet desperate for her daughters' love. Her sister, Ruth, suffers epileptic fits and sneaks cigarettes every chance she gets. In the midst of chaos, Tillie struggles to keep her focus and dreams alive.” (Source - Official Paul Zindel Website)  Allyson Dainiak plays Beatrice, Molly Bibisi plays Ruth, and Victoria Johnson plays Tillie.  All seniors, the three actresses have established an incredibly effective ensemble.  Their appreciation for the play, combined with a deep respect for each other’s rich talents is a formula for an incredibly moving piece of theatre often compared with William’s The Glass Menagerie for its poignancy. The cast is rounded out with Cayla Schaub and Polly McGuire. Please come out and support the talented young students as they close their acting career at EHHS.
