Fire Destroys East Hampton Home: Report

Officials said an East Hampton home was destroyed by a fire, despite firefighters' best efforts.

EAST HAMPTON, CT — Officials said an East Hampton home was destroyed by a fire over the weekend, NBC Connecticut reported. The incident occurred Saturday around 2:40 a.m. at 22 Knowles Road, officials said.

According to NBC Connecticut, about half of the building was already burnt when crews arrived, and it continued to burn due to the wind, officials said. The home eventually collapsed despite firefighters' best efforts.

Officials said five people were inside the home at the time, however they all escaped uninjured, NBC Connecticut reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
