Firefighters encountered a heavy blaze at the home Thursday.

PORTLAND, CT — A home on Murphy Road was destroyed in a two-alarm blaze Thursday morning. Firefighters encountered heavy fire at arrival and tankers had to be called in because the remote area didn't have an available water supply.

The house ended up collapsing due to the fire, according to Fox 61. The homeowner wasn't home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The cause remains under investigation.
