Join in the Flash Read! At The Portland Library

Join us for Portland Library’s first ever FLASH READ event!
Based on the concept of FLASH MOBS, which involve groups of people meeting at a preselected location and breaking out in spontaneous dance or song, we will be meeting on the Town Green for some spontaneous reading. Since most Flash Mobs are invitation only, consider this your invite!

Let’s see how many readers we can get at one time in one place! Bring a book or an eBook and something to sit on and join us on the Town Green off of Waverly Avenue for this fun event. Our Youth Services Librarian, Jennifer Renk will be reading to children as an extra bonus. All ages are welcome.

After reading for about 15-20 minutes, an ice cream social, courtesy of the Friends of the Portland Library, will immediately follow the event. In case of inclement weather, the ‘mob’ will move into the Portland Library. Registration is required.
