Join us this Winter for Basketball, Tumbling, and STEAM at the Y!

Registration opens February 5th! Don't miss this chance to help your children develop skills, stay active, meet new friends and HAVE FUN!

Here at the Middlesex YMCA we are about half-way through our Winter 1 Session and we couldn’t have asked for a better session! By offering smaller class sizes we are able to give everyone the opportunity to play, provide direct instruction, and give quality feedback throughout the class. Our kids are eager to learn and their parents are excited to help! At the Middlesex YMCA we create a positive atmosphere where your children can make friends, learn skills, and have fun all year round! Each session runs for 8 weeks and on the last day of class everyone gets to bring a friend!

As we make the home stretch in our Winter Session 1 Classes, we are excited to open registration for our Winter 2 Classes on Monday, February 5th! All classes during our Winter Sessions are taught by Certified Physical Educator and Camp Ingersoll’s Assistant Director, Coach Taylor!

PARENT AND ME BASKETBALL (AGE 3 YEARS) 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
This class is designed for children and parents to spend quality time together practicing a new sport. Parents, Grandparent, Aunts, Uncles, and more are welcome to join us as the class will be parent-child based activities. We will play a variety of active games that teach and reinforce the skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and good sportsmanship!

PEE WEE BASKETBALL (AGES 4-6 YEARS) 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
Focusing on participation, building confidence, and having fun, participants will learn new skills, meet new friends, and be active in a non-competitive and fun atmosphere.

STEAM ON (AGES 5-10) 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
With the success of our Winter 1 Session we have decided to bring it back to the YMCA for a second session of STEAM Activities! You won’t just learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. You’ll make it, create it, and build it! Join us as we construct catapults, paint with a pendulum, grow crystal gardens, and more as we work creatively to solve challenges and have fun!

BEGINNER TUMBLING (AGES 4-8) 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM
Join us as we learn the basics of tumbling! This class offers young children an introduction to the fundamentals of tumbling such as somersaults, handstands, cartwheels, and round offs, which will provide the building blocks for furthering tumbling skills. Students will work to improve flexibility, strength, body awareness, and focus on technique to ensure safety.
