Noah Charpentier is a State Champion winner of the Knights Hoop Shoot Tournament, and a member of the Portland Travel Basketball Program. The Portland Travel Basketball Club and the Knights are co-sponsoring a Ham & Bean Dinner on Saturday, April 18th to continue support of this successful sporting program and other Knights charities. Over 100 Portland girls and boys participated in these regional basketball competitions. The dinner will be held at St. Mary Church Hall from 4:00 to 7 P.M. A donation of $10 for adults, and $5 for children 6 years and under will enable Portland youth to enjoy this sporting activity. The fund raising event is an effort of the Travel Basketball Club and Freestone Council #7 to be certain this basketball program continues. For information, or tickets, contact Brother Gerry Poulin at 866/922-2161 or Gary Collins of the Basketball Travel Club at 860/316-7138. Our State Champion, Noah, won the local, district and regional contests before competing in the Connecticut State final on April 11th. The Tournament took place in Bristol, and attracted over 200 players and their families. The event is part of a Knights of Columbus National program.

As a legacy to their daughter, the Hubbard family, with the gift of 34 acres from the State of CT, will be establish The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary. You can get more info at: info@cvhfoundation.org. In addition to Jenny’ presentation, St. Mary’s children choir joined by the adult choir will be performing. Refreshments will be served following the Service. A good-will offering will be accepted to benefit the sanctuary in Catherine Violet’s name. This Service is sponsored by The Knights of Columbus.
