Liberty Bank 'Lends a Hand' in Portland

Month-Long Community Service Initiative Promotes Volunteerism and Giving

As a kick-off project for "Liberty Lends a Hand", 27 employees from across Liberty Bank volunteered their time over the course of three days at a Middlesex County Habitat for Humanity house at 202 Summer Street in Portland. Crews were busy planting flowers and a vegetable garden, clearing brush in the backyard, and laying stone paverys for a walkway, staircase, and back patio.

This project was part of a month-long initiative called "Liberty Lends a Hand," designed to encourage all Liberty Bank employees to get involved with community service, either through volunteering or conducting a collection for charity. At the end of the month, a total of 18 nonprofit agencies had benefited from 940 volunteer hours from employees, and 74 collections were held for goods to be donated to organizations throughout the bank's service area.
