Man Charged In Portland Home Invasion: Report

PORTLAND, CT — Police said a Milford man has been charged in a home invasion incident that occurred Monday in Portland, the Middletown Press reports. Police said an investigation revealed Andrew Johnson, 27, forced his way into a woman's apartment through the window at 12:45 a.m.

According to the Middletown Press, police said the accused pointed a loaded firearm at the woman, forced her onto a bed and choked her until she passed out. The woman later escaped and ran to the police department, and officers subsequently arrested the accused at the apartment, police said.
