Multiple Injuries Reported After Crash, Car Fire In Portland, Police Say

The accident involved a utility pole and occurred early Thursday morning.

PORTLAND, CT -- Multiple injuries were reported after an accident involving a utility pole led to a car fire in Portland, according to police.

Emergency responders were called to the area of 900 Portland-Cobalt Road (Route 66 westbound) for a two-car accident at 2:54 a.m. Thursday.

Both cars were heavily damaged as a result of catching fire after the crash.

A utility pole was also damaged.

Three people were taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment of various injuries, police said. They are currently listed in stable condition.
