Munson, Brady, O'Connor: Recent Death Notices From East Hampton & Portland

EAST HAMPTON, CT — Recent death notices from East Hampton.
Francis John "Beaver" Brady, 68, died Aug. 23, 2026. A skilled woodsman and craftsman, he took pride in creating things by hand and was known for his cooking. He is survived by his fiancee of 20 years, Kathy Fisher, three daughters and four grandchildren.
David Albert Luke, 82, died Aug. 10, 2026. A skilled auto body mechanic, he worked for Kenwood Auto Body in Berlin for 45 years and restored a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Zick) Luke, two children and two grandchildren.

Dennis M. O'Connor, 77, died in mid-July 2026. He taught English for 37 years at RHAM High School in Hebron, where he also coached basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and track and field. He earned a master's degree in education from Brown University. He is survived by two sons, three grandsons and two brothers.
James Edward Piatti, 71, of Portland, died July 13, 2026. He worked for the town of Portland at the highway garage, served as a town constable and volunteered 50 years with Fire Company No. 1. He later worked more than 20 years each at Continental Can/Smurfit Stone and Middlesex Mutual. He is survived by his wife, Rose, two daughters and a brother.

Janet E. (Barrett) McCann, 88, died July 12, 2026. She and her husband, Curtis, owned Midtown Kawasaki in Rocky Hill for 42 years, and she was a devoted member of several motorcycle racing clubs in New England. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, three children and seven grandchildren.
Cassandra "Cassie" Munson, 15, died July 12, 2026. A student at East Hampton High School, she was a member of the Stage Left Dance Company and had a passion for painting. She is survived by her parents, Michelle Richards and Patrick Munson, and her sister, Morgan.
