New Town Hall Complex To Ultimately Include East Hampton School Administration

East Hampton school administrators have ultimately agreed to be included in the proposed new Town Hall/police station complex.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - School administration has ultimately agreed to be included in the proposed Town Hall/police station complex, the Middletown press reported. Though officials had initially rejected the idea, they have since come around to the idea of leaving their current building.

Plans for the municipal complex are currently being worked on by a nine-member committee and a Hartford architectural firm, the Middletown Press reported. If approved by voters, the complex will be built on a five-acre parcel of land in the Edgewater Hills development. Superintendent of Schools Paul K. Smith was originally not on board for leaving the 151-year-old Board of Education building at 94 Main Street, according to the Middletown Press. He recently withdrew his opposition and asked school administration be added to the new Town Hall.
