Police: Intoxicated Portland Woman Led Middletown Police on Chase

The pursuit ended after she stopped on a sidewalk and attempted to flee on foot, police said.

An intoxicated Portland woman allegedly engaged police in a pursuit that ended with her driving onto a sidewalk and attempting to walk away from the scene, according to police.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle, but it fled, police said. The operator fled over the Arrigoni Bridge and police spotted it on Main Street traveling at a high rate of speed, according to a police report.

The operator turned onto College Street and drove the wrong way on the one-way street before heading onto Hamlin Street.

Eventually the vehicle stopped at William Street after turning onto a cement walking path.

The vehicle operator, identified as Corrine Molsberry-Foss, 33, attempted to flee on foot, police said.

She smelled of alcohol and police found a bottle of vodka, a mason jar and a small water bottle filled with what smelled like an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, according to a report.

Molsberry-Foss refused to take a field sobriety test or submit to a breathalyzer test.

She was charged with reckless driving, disobeying an officer’s signal, engaging police in a pursuit, operating under the influence of alcohol, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
