PORTLAND, CT — Portland officials are considering to purchase a 5.5-acre swath of land on the Connecticut River that would be remediated.
The land is the former site of Connecticut Tar and Asphalt Co. Portland received a $200,000 state grant to come up with a plan to remediate the property and a $750,000 state grant could be used for the implementation, according to the Middletown Press.
Plans for the land include a restaurant space, a museum and a visitor's center.
