Portland Library Participating in Passport to CT Libraries Program

Those who get their passport stamped have a chance to win a $100 to $150 gift card.

Portland Public Library, 20 Freestone Ave., is participating in the first ever Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program, running in all participating public libraries from Sept. 2 through Sept. 30.

Ask for a passport at the library and take it to at least five libraries on the list to be eligible to win a $150 gift card for adults or a $100 gift card for children. The program is based on the Connecticut Wine Trail’s passport program and was created to encourage exploration of local libraries.

“Every participating library will offer a passport to their patrons, that each patron will take to any participating library to be stamped and receive a small gift,” according to the Connecticut Library Association, the sponsor of the passport program.

At the end of September, the passports can be turned in and entered into two drawings: Most Libraries Visited and one random drawing for all participants. The drawing will be for two adult prizes of $150 each and two children’s (under 18) of $100 each.
