Portland Nurse's License Suspended For Substance Abuse
A local nurse has had her license suspended due to substance abuse.
PORTLAND, CT — A local nurse has had her license suspended for three months. Rene Cottrill will also be placed on probation for four years, according to Connecticut Health I-Team.
The suspension comes after Cottrill failed to comply with the terms of a June 2019 consent order, which required her to undergo random weekly drug testing and therapy.
Cottrill was disciplined for abuse of benzodiazepines, marijuana, and alcohol, Connecticut Health I-Team reported. She told the state Board of Examiners for Nursing she had relapsed in July and August.
