Portland Passes $10 Million Bond Package
Some present at the meeting were, however, concerned and frustrated with the proposal.

PORTLAND, CT – After a vote Wednesday by the Board of Selectmen, a proposed $10 million bond issue will go out to voters in November, the Middletown Press reported.
The proposed bond package includes $6 million in funding for the Portland Town Park and a proposed recreation and fitness complex off Route 17, according to the Middletown Press. Millions spent on road repairs, sidewalk improvements and more were also included in the proposal.
Some present at the meeting were concerned with some of the items that were included and some that were left out of the proposal, the Middletown Press reported. Some also felt they should have started at a higher number and worked down from there.
