Portland Propane Leak Contained

A tree damaged a propane tank and caused it to leak Monday.

PORTLAND, CT — A propane leak in Portland caused by storm damage has now been contained.

A downed tree fell on Bartlett Street around 5 a.m. Power was cut to the house and firefighters sprayed water for several hours, according to WFSB.

The tree hit the propane tank's valve as it came down. Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
