Portland Runner Finishes Second in Lions Road Race

More than 200 runners laced up their sneakers on Saturday to participate in the 13th Annual East Haddam Lions Club April Fools 5K and 10.5 Mile Race.

Middlefield's Chris Schulten finished the 10.5 mile race in first place with a time of 1:04:54 - a nearly three-minute edge over second-place finisher Mark Paparella of Colchester.

Jay Ryczek of Portland finished second in the 5K race behind Brad Overturf of Norwich.
