Portland Woman Charged With Slicing Victim With Box Cutter During Fight: Middletown Police
The woman told police she was attempting to break up a fight when she was attacked and then pulled out a box cutter.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Portland woman is accused of slicing another woman multiple times with a box cutter during an altercation in Middletown, according to police. At about 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 9, police responded to a Middletown address after receiving a 911 call from a woman who said she was attacked and cut three times with a knife before the phone line disconnected.
Arriving officers found the victim “covered in blood” and reported that she had several lacerations on her arms and chest, according to the police report. The victim told police that she was sliced three times with a box cutter while fighting with two other women.
Kristen Patraw, 29, told police that she was attempting to break up a fight when she was attacked and then took out the box cutter and sliced the victim an “unknown number of times,” according to the police report.

Patraw, of Knollwood Road in Portland, was arrested on charges of second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. She was released after posting a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25, according to state judicial records.
Patraw was additionally charged with second-degree failure to appear on an active arrest warrant.
