Portland Woman Missing Since March Found Dead: Report

A Portland woman suffering from dementia who was declared missing in March was found dead Wednesday.

PORTLAND, CT — A 75-year-old Portland woman suffering from dementia was found dead, according to NBC CT. Rosemarie Dean had been missing since March 17.

Her family said Dean was a new resident at Greystone Retirement Home and had been there for only about four hours before she wandered away, NBC CT reported.

Middletown police contact Portland police Wednesday after a body was found in the Connecticut River near a public safety boat launch. The body was later identified as Dean's.

The death does not appear to be suspicious. An autopsy will be conducted by the state Medical Examiner's Office.
