Presidential Candidate to Speak on "Endless War" and the 2016 Presidential Race

Dr. Jill Stein, Green Party Candidate to Speak

The Green Party of Connecticut will feature the first Presidential candidate to visit the state in 2015, Dr. Jill Stein, who will speak on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at noon at the Portland Waverly Senior Center, 7 Waverly Avenue, Portland, Connecticut. A physician, Dr. Stein has announced she has formed an Exploratory Committee to seek support for running for President. The lecture is free and open to the public, and Dr. Stein will discuss the Green Party’s views on a permanent war status and the alternative of a “Green New Deal“ to create thousands of jobs and to improve the environment. The event will also feature “Green Musician” Baird Welch-Collins.

“Dr Stein is the most successful WOMAN candidate for President ever,” explains Green Party spokesperson Tim McKee. He added, “She was the Green Party candidate in 2012 and has been organizing for the Greens ever since. She was arrested for trying to enter and debate the Democratic and Republican candidates.”

The Green Party of Connecticut has elected candidates in New Haven, Hartford, New London and Windham. In 2015, over 30 Greens are officeholders, commissioners and officials in local Connecticut governments.
