Preview of 'West Side Story' by YPCCA
A large cast will be presenting the classic 'West Side Story' for three performances in Durham.'
The Young People’s Center for Creative Arts presents
WEST SIDE STORY
Over seventy students from towns including East Hampton, Portland, Middletown, Marlborough, Durham, Middlefield, Haddam, and Guilford have been hard at work putting together Leonard Bernstein’s music theater masterpiece.
Performances are Thursday, July 30th, Friday, July 31st, Saturday, August 1st at 7 p.m. and Sunday August 2nd at 2 p.m. at Coginchaug High School.
Tickets will be available at www.ypcca.org or at the door - $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
