Register for 'Come on Over' Road Race in Portland
The 5K event, to be held Aug. 10, will include a walker's course.

Come on out for Portland’s “Come on Over” road Race on Friday, Aug. 10, at 6:30 p.m. The race will start and finish at the Portland Town Hall at 33 East Main St.
Last year more than 100 runners turned out for the annual 3.1-mile event. This year also will include a 2.1 mile walker’s course.

The run will feature T-shirts to the first 100 applicants and there will be an awards ceremony following the race. The race is being run by the Portland Parks and Recreation Department and will benefit the department’s recreation programs and summer camp scholarships.
Last year, Cromwell teen Louis Tobias bested the field with a time of 17:03.

Pre-registration for the race is $15 prior to Aug. 5, after which it will be $20. The fee for Portland residents age 19 and younger is $10 through the day of the race. Walkers registration is $10 throughout the registration period.
Entry forms can be picked up at the Portland Parks and Recreation office or online at www.portlandct.org. Race-day registration will be at the Portland Town Hall starting at 5 p.m.
