Rescue Crews Searching For Man Who Jumped From Arrigoni Bridge
Someone jumped from the Arrigoni bridge Monday morning, authorities said.

PORTLAND/MIDDLETOWN, CT — A water rescue was underway late Monday morning after someone jumped from the Arrigoni Bridge, fire officials said.
Middletown police said that, at 9:42 a.m., Portland and Middletown officers responded to the report of a man jumping from the Arrigoni Bridge.
Witnesses indicated that a man had parked his vehicle in an active construction area on the Portland side of the bridge and jumped over the fencing into the Connecticut River, police said.

The man was not affiliated with the construction crew on the bridge, but he has not yet been identified, police said.
Portland, Middletown and South District fire crews, Middletown police and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection all had boats and divers in the water searching for the man.
